The Dynasty Continues…

I guess we can finally discuss some of the tracks featured on the upcoming American Gangster album since it is leaking everywhere. We obviously can’t play the entire album, but I picked 4 standouts to discuss.

Probably the most anticipated track is the Success single featuring Nas. 3 words can easily describe it: Off The Hook! Jay definitely came through with the business on that track and literally “moved his bowels and shit on niggas”. Nas did what Nas always does and delivered as well. Shouts out to NO ID “The Mentor” for producing this track.

Success

Another highly anticipated song was the collaboration with Lil Wayne. Kind of strange to have a song with Weezy entitled “Hello Brooklyn”, but hey… i guess the title doesn’t matter if you get these two together on a track (I thought they had a lil beef brewing???). Anyway, this is being touted as the “heir to the throne’ type of thing. For some reason, I don’t think that Jay is passing the torch just yet!

Hello Brooklyn

People have been talking about this “No Hook” song because Jay Z finally addresses the Dehaven situation in this song. How many times does he have to warn dudes to just “Leave him alone”?

No Hook

“Fallin” is one of the 2 tracks produced by Jermaine Dupri on this album. JD and Jay Z both came together to bring you magic once again (they also collaborated on “Money Aint A Thing” back in the Hard Knock Life days.

Fallin

American Gangster is in stores on November 6, 2007
