Alleged Fake Doctor Arrested At Piedmont Hospital…
ATLANTA — Police said a man posing as an emergency room doctor, even fooling his wife, was arrested last week at Piedmont Hospital.”He told me he was a doctor as well as an electrical engineer,” Tammi Perteet told WSB-TV Channel 2 reporter Diana Davis in an exclusive interview.Tammi said Eric Perteet seemed like a dream come true: a handsome, smart doctor.They met in a club last November.He confided in Tammi Perteet about his painful past, she said. His parents and two kids, he said, were killed in a Chicago car crash.”And my heart just immediately opened up to him because of the tragedies he suffered,” said Tammi Perteet.He told her he gave up medicine and came to Atlanta to get away.
They married in March, honeymooning in the Bahamas.”It was very surprising on our honeymoon that he told me he was going back into medicine and he was going to start immediately,” said Tammi Perteet.He said he was starting at the Piedmont Hospital emergency room.”Every morning I would drop him off at the hospital,” said Tammi Perteet.She said that from March through May, her husband called every hour or so from the hospital — at least he said — telling her about his tough day.”To tell me he lost a patient, [or] you know, he almost lost a patient,” said Tammi Perteet.When he didn’t call one night last week, she got worried and called the E.R. To her surprise, the people there had never heard of him.”I was thinking maybe the nurses do not know all the doctors,” said Tammi Perteet.So she called him on his Piedmont cell phone, the one he told her was for emergencies. A staff member picked up.”I said, ‘I’m trying to locate my husband, Dr. Perteet.’ And she said, ‘Dr. who? We don’t have a Dr. Perteet.’ And she says, ‘Are you talking about the guy that had this cell phone?’ And I said ‘yes.’ And she says, ‘Oh, he was arrested last night for impersonating a doctor,’” Tammi Perteet said.Perteet was arrested and booked into the Fulton County Jail on charges of identity fraud, receiving stolen property, and credit card theft.He was found at the hospital with a stolen Piedmont security badge and a vial of medicine.”I was told [by Piedmont Hospital] at the time he was arrested, he and a nurse were taking a patient from the emergency room into intensive care,” said Tammi Perteet.Tammi Perteet has talked to him three times since he has been in jail and has even visited him. Still, he maintains his story. He still says he is a doctor and talks about going to work.Piedmont Hospital told Channel 2 that there was no evidence that Perteet ever came into contact with patients. It said it is cooperating with police and has systems in place to provide a safe and secure environment.As for the stolen badge, it said a doctor reported it missing and it was deactivated.
yo I saw this on the news last night, along with the student/teacher fight in Dekalb county, Atlanta is off the hook. Hell, people are crazy in general.
I know people at my hospital are like family so when someone new comes on staff people are all up in there’s. it seems strange that noone was asking him about his background.

The so-called wife should definitely get an AIDS test. There is no telling what else he is telling lies about. I’m not a fan of marrying someone so quickly even though there are countless examples of people who met and married withins days or months who go on to stay happily married for decades. The wife was very articulate during her on-camera interview for the news station. I felt sorry for her. It’s easy to offer opinions when you’re on the outside looking in but she thought that she fell in love with her prince. We have all loved some FOOL who wasn’t worthy of our time and affections. Luckily, in most cases, we found this out and moved on. She will probably never completely trust a man again. I pray that she recovers emotionally. This has to be a tremendous strain on her – not to mention humiliating. If God allowed it, there’s purpose in it. She may have a mentoring ministry in her just waiting to be released.

Damn, this sounds so familiar!! I know someone in St. Louis, Missouri that does the same thing. His stories may not be as extreme as being a doctor, but he’s a computer engineer that makes 85,000-90,000 a year. He always got an interview coming up with a better company, etc. Men like this are straight con-artist!! The daily life is to lie and live off woman. They are nice looking, charming and the sex is off the chain!! This guy in STL, would have you thinking he’s contributing to funds and make plans to do all kinds of stuff and when the time comes he’s always going to pay you back when he gets paid. (NEVER SEEN A PAYCHECK, LIVES WITH HIS MOTHER AND ANY WOMEN HE COULD GO HOME WITH FOR THE NIGHT, NO CAR, NO NOTHING!!) Ladies beware…….Hell, they might be some kin to each other!!!
Yo, I just found out the the wifey was a classmate of my brothers and from what I can remember she was a very sweet, intelligent and pretty girl. I wonder what has happened over the years. The thought of being Dr. and Mrs…….Ladies, wise up, get the social security number, check the credit (if the score is in the single digits, and low hundreds, leave his ass alone), family medical history (suppose they have some psycho relative- you know some illnesses are generational), and for heavens sakes do you own investigation before giving up the jewels.
