The HustleHER must be trying to get her executive key today.. here is a scoop that she sent us
shout out to Rhymes With Snitch

CNN, Proctor and Gamble, Pepsi and General Motors pulled their ads from Rap City and 106 & Park after the companies viewed “The Rap on Rap,” a content analysis of BET and MTV programming. The study found that children were exposed to violence, profanity or obscenity once every 38 seconds.

So you mean to tell me that these Forbe type companies.. had no idea that these types of things were being shown to children ? NO way! can you feel the sarcasism?
diggin the catergory!
Y’all are funny!
I’m saying, this seemed like something you guys would post on.
This is a classic example of things “we” have that “we” really don’t have. Explain to me how the same action wasn’t taken against any show on MTV when they are owned by the same company? MTv gets very risque with their lesbian/gay ads at times. And Some of their ish can be explicit as well. SMH… shame on it all.
MTV caters to white audiences which is why they get away with it.. but that may be a good thing.. in the sense that some of the things on tv shouldnt be so readily available to the eyes of “our” kids.. (I dnt care to much for YT’s kids ; rude right?!
)
i mean look what TV has done to Marie.; prime example.. just so no to TV.
True.
But it just goes to show that it can be taken away. Advertisement is the name of the game. this is a great way to help fuck up revenue for a station and then when do a (can’t think of the word I want- restructuring) of it and totally change it.
BET has gotten loose anyway! I think many need to lose their jobs over there. they need new talent and other experienced talent. Situations like the “adopt some white kids” joke on the awards was fucking embarrassing as a people and had NO DAMN PLACE on national television. Case & Point why I dont want a black CNN. Maybe they needed this type of thing to happen for some people to lose their jobs and new people to move in. Cause clearly, they’re self destructing… and the shit needs to stop..
Although… I am curious to read this study. We all know how BIASED these shits can be.
I thought the white kids joke was hilarious.. Shoulda been on an HBO/Showtime special.. but still funny nonetheless. Restructuring works, i get what your saying.. they did that before though .. BET is like a cheap chinatown replica of MTV. So anything else in that direction needs to stop
But i so agree with you that some people at BET need to be let go. The programming is all wrong. TV1 (which just recently saw profit after 4/5 years on air i think) & BETJ have MUCH better programmes. But alot of TV1 is old re-runs and movies ; so that says alot about BET. & BETJ has some original programmes which kinda take black people in the diection we need to go.
The question then becomes.. how do we incorporate the positives the BET has… with BETJ to create a better station.. ?
1st Step… stop the rotation. More original and out of the box programming… SO… new producers. Stop snatching up re-runs and putting them on BET. BET has like a set weekly schedule… thats a mess.
It got good with the inc of Blueprint, Keyshia Cole, DMX… it started to change up… then they went back to the same shit day in and day out. Also, shows are not even shot with the same lighting. All BET shows are dark except 106th.
they just have issues period. IDK…
Kill shows like Baldwin Hills, College Hill, etc. I hate BET! My kids will NOT be allowed to watch that mess. Stephen Hill needs to do less parties and paparazzi and more planning! He’s everywhere as of late!
^^ See!!
College Hill Interns was str8. Word to the community service. That ig’nant bourgeois bitch killed me like “What does this have to do with an internship?” Like… when I went corporate… I was remodeling a day care within my 1st month. Word to the poison ivy the fellas caught. Reality checks like those were/are needed. So Interns can stay… the rest is an embarrassment to college students/grads.. and a complete set-back from shows like “A Different World”.
And the NEW seasons cast!!! Ol video girl thinks she’s a REAL LIVE somebody now. Not to mention Dorion (and he’s cool!) shit is crazy.
Anyway… @ Bean… that shit was funny if you’re in the house talking. That shit had no place on television— no matter the channel. Had the roles been reversed and it was on MTV with 5 Somalians up there… shit would have been on CNN for a week! The shit was unprofessional and embarrassing and SOMEONE should have known better. The fact that no one did… is a fucking problem.
Shit, it embarrassed ME… and I only watched it on some blog.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Sandrarose had a parody today with a comedian pretending to be from Malwi adopting an American child to save them from the stupidity of America.
Buffonery Entertainment Television as my daddy calls it. BET doesn’t represent black America or even cover all black entertainment. The network caters to a younger crowd, I don’t know too many 40+ year olds that watch BET on the regular besides the occasional special or awards show. A bunch of knockoff shows from MTV and VH1, I know it’s all Viacom but still. What I find funny is when BET puts on those Hip Hop vs. America type of shows and points the finger at hip hop when the network itself shows all the things people are on there complaining about. It’s just a matter of time before they have an All Star College Hill Show or some sort of Real World/Road Rules challenge show. Are people really watching Different Strokes and Malcolm and Eddie reruns?
