Belly 2: The Millionaire Boys Club
Yes, you read it right Belly 2: The Millionaire Boys Club will be available for viewing August 12, 2008 as a straight-to-DVD release with Lionsgate films.
Belly, originally released in 1998, directed by Hype Williams is a Urban Classic. The cinematography was the bomb diggity. The acting was not the best but nonetheless the film is still favored by many. The opening scene set the tone for the rest of the movie and the rest is history. Ahh Memories!
Im sorry to report that the sequel will not be the epic film we know as Belly. B2 is based on a true story, stars The Game as “G,” a convict fresh off an 8 year bid who hopes to turn his life around. His running mate, played by Michael K. Williams (The Wire), is no help & both are soon back to killing & stealing. A DEA agent played by Shari Headley (Coming to America), is thrown in the mix and is torn between her job and her new found romance..
how cliché
Add to that a crooked cop played by Ed O’Ross (Leathal Weapon) and you have Belly 2. I’ll save my comments for later…
Tropic Thunder
Tropic Thunder, starring Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr. (in black face), and Jack Black. The movie is a comedy about a group of actors filming a war movie and actually end up at war unbeknownst to them. It hits theaters August 13, 2008 & the starring cast with be on BET’s 106 & Park tomorrow.
I’m touchy about anything black face.. what are your thoughts? Will you go see it?
Mirrors
Directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes), and starring Kiefer Sutherland (24) and Mrs. Robin Thicke, Paula Patton (Deja Vu, Idlewild). This thriller is about an ex-New York cop who battles evil forces in mirrors that endanger him & his family. Mirrors will be in theaters August 15th, 2008.
Death Race
This action flick stars Jason Stathan, Joan Allen, Ian Shane, and Tyrese Gibson. Originally entitled Death Race 3000, ex-cons form race teams and either harm or kill themselves & each other in the process. The film is due out in theaters August 22, 2008.
I saw the previews for this when i went to see The Dark Knight. Looks pretty good..

My kick is super slow. So I can only see Belly 2. Why not just make it a new damn movie!! How abt it sounds like they snatched the plot from the Deadly Reigns trilogy. Smh….

They are hyping(no pun intended) people up thinking Belly 2 is some sort of sequel. Hype isn’t even directing it, is he? smdh
Mirrors looks wack as does Death Wish. We are about to enter a down time of year for movies, the studios don’t release a bunch of movies they expect to do blockbuster box office #’s after the next couple of weeks.
I just got off the phone with one of my friends talking about RDowney and the black face. It’s coming to come off as racist to a lot of black folks, he mentioned that the Wayans bros did “white face” with White Chicks, I just had to laugh. There’s no way to compare damn near a century of black explotation by Hollywood to 1 movie. But anyway, Brandon Jackson has a supporting role and he said it is all in fun so I’ll take the word of black comedian and wish for the best. Rumor has it there was a line in the script that had RDown saying “Nigga” that the producers told them cut from the script.
Best movie of 2008 has been The Dark Knight.

my eyes are only seeking to watch Mirrors&Tropic Thunder
(Just because Brandon T Jackson in the movie) maybe I’ll see Death Race if I have any change left. But anyways who wants to watch or buy Belly 2 no one gives a damn if its West Coast a edition thats all it is.Game making them Constipated looks talking about he runs L.A. they should had Ice cube and snoop or at least Nas in the movie maybe I’ll waste my money to buy it. Game is a cool rapper but I weather buy the soundtrack than the dvd
It will be on B.E.T next month anyways.
