MONTREAL — A spokesperson for the McGill University Health Centre says pop star Janet Jackson was discharged from the Royal Victoria Hospital about two hours after she checked in Monday night after cancelling her show.

The reason for her visit and where she went afterwards isn’t clear.

According to a statement released by W & W Public Relations, the singer called off the show after she “got suddenly ill” during a sound check.

The 42-year-old was rushed to hospital, while fans were informed of the cancellation about five minutes before the show was to begin with opening act L-L Cool J.

Promoter Groupe Spectacles Gillett says Jackson hopes to return to Montreal as soon as possible.

According to TMZ…

When $500,000 worth of bling absolutely positively has to be there overnight, you might want to insure it for more than you would a cheap Persian rug.

Sources tell TMZ rapper Sean Kingston had his sister FedEx the jewelry from L.A. to a jeweler in NY. When the package arrived (a day late) — no jewelry inside the box! Here’s the problemo: Sis only insured it for $500 — only a comma and three zeroes short of the mark.

The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department now has the case. A rep for Kingston could not be reached for comment.

Interesting… according to Financial Times, Myspace Music is challenging Itunes for the digital music crown.

“News Corp’s MySpace launches a new online music service on Thursday, aiming to loosen Apple’s grip on the US music industry and challenge all other online rivals.

The service, MySpace Music, also aims to come to the aid of a music industry reeling from the continued slide in CD sales.

MySpace Music is viewed by the music industry as an alternative to prior partnerships, most notably, its pact with Apple’s Steve Jobs.

Label chiefs have long grumbled that Apple’s iTunes service is primarily designed to funnel profits back to Apple’s iPod and iPhone devices at the expense of the music industry.

But so far, no contenders have managed to dent iTunes.

The big three labels – Vivendi’s Universal Music Group, Sony BMG and Warner Music Group – together own about 40 per cent of MySpace Music joint venture.”

Not sure what this has to do with MAGIC… but here it is…
