MySpace Music Coming For Itunes…

Interesting… according to Financial Times, Myspace Music is challenging Itunes for the digital music crown.

“News Corp’s MySpace launches a new online music service on Thursday, aiming to loosen Apple’s grip on the US music industry and challenge all other online rivals.

The service, MySpace Music, also aims to come to the aid of a music industry reeling from the continued slide in CD sales.

MySpace Music is viewed by the music industry as an alternative to prior partnerships, most notably, its pact with Apple’s Steve Jobs.

Label chiefs have long grumbled that Apple’s iTunes service is primarily designed to funnel profits back to Apple’s iPod and iPhone devices at the expense of the music industry.

But so far, no contenders have managed to dent iTunes.

The big three labels – Vivendi’s Universal Music Group, Sony BMG and Warner Music Group – together own about 40 per cent of MySpace Music joint venture.”

    GOOD POST TODD!!!!!!

They are are coming for the crown. EVERY SONG is now on myspace… I’m loving it. I’m rocking with a song supp on Kiss My Ass right now! You can buy ringtones… some songs are offered as free downloads… and if I wanted the space on my computer to be filled with that… Id so be a fan of the DL feature.

But the thing is… all people will do is DL for their ipods. ::Shrugs::

The new music still has some bugs though… their technology needs to get on all of these error messages… and the number of clicks you must do to get a song on ur profile…the fact that their new profile designs are not in line with the coding of the new players either. (Thats the technology analyst in my coming out)

BUT ba ba da da… I’m loving it. And myspace is def on a highspeed paperchase!
