So Vibe did an exclusive interview with Matt Barnes and Gloria Govan about their wedding cancellation. Get this:

Why did you decide to postpone it?
Gloria: Matt and I feel like marriage is something that should not be rushed into. It wasn’t any outside party. We’re committed and dedicated to working on our relationship and we’re still together but again, we felt like this wasn’t something that was in our hearts at the time. Marriage is something that is definitely our goal but again, we’re not rushing into something that we just feel like isn’t right for us at the time so we’re just taking the time to work on our family.

*blink blink*

Oh but Gloria, I thought your marraige was perfect. Matt was supposed to make you different than those “Basketball Groupies”??

What’s your response to the rumors about your break up and alleged infidelity?
Matt: That’s something we set ourselves up for. We opened our family life up to the world, doing this TV show and we’ve always seen it from afar with celebrities going through their stuff and troubles where everything is well documented. And I know from being in professional sports for a while that a lot you see and hear is not true. Gloria heard everything—just crazy stuff—but we know what’s going on and our family knows what’s going on so that’s what’s most important.

Matt, you took to twitter to air out your grievances about the women on Basketball Wives. Elaborate on what set you off.
Matt: I just think their focus and their attention could have been in a different direction considering that me and Gloria and Eric [Williams] and Jennifer were the only couples on the show. And I think the whole thing with Shaq and Gloria’s sister kind of went south and kind of dropped while the show was on and I just feel like Shaunie tried to flip the script and blame Gloria, when Gloria had nothing to do with it. And then the rest of those girls—Evelyn and all those other girls—want to tell their sob stories and air their dirty laundry to the world and just because as a couple we choose not to do that doesn’t make us no better or no worse than anybody else. We just decided to keep what’s personal between us in our household and I think that’s how every family should treat it. If you saw the other women on the show acting a mess crying and telling their story, then that’s well within their rights but I just didn’t like how they tried to attack myself and Gloria—poke holes and dig up dirt—that’s really none of their business.

While they both make valid points in their defense of their decision not to get married. It’s called the price of fame. They are right, they set theirselves up for the public to be in their business. Meaning, Matt shouldn’t have been poking chicks and taking pictures knowing he was going on this show. Also, there is a difference between being a private couple and trying to be the perfect couple, which is what they protrayed. They need to learn that difference. After all of the catty *ish Matt pulled on twitter, to act like they didn’t want to “rush into a marriage” is a joke. So rightfully, we all have jokes!

The young girl is blowing up, discovered on YouTube and everyone is lining up next to bat. In the age of adware, trojans and viruses, do you really think I am going to click your little link and give your 4 minutes of music a shot? Hmmm… 4 minutes of some shit that’s bound to be trash, or the safety of my hard drive. Need I say more?

Don’t let the timeline fool you. It doesn’t matter who someone tweets or who tweets them. Pay no attention to followers. I know people who do absolutely nothing (as in no job, no assets, no hustle) and have as many followers as your favorite WSHH battle rapper. SORRY! They can not make you famous.

“Oh! He is an A&R… He tweets [insert your favorite mogul/rapper here]…” Before you send your little virus encypted link, just think, if he was really that major of a businessman, would he be filling your timeline giving advice? If he was that major of a producer, would he have as many tweets as you little sister in the 11th grade?? Who has that kind of time? Hmmm… Is he/she telling you how to get famous? Are they famous? People know them, but are they famous? Hmmm… Then they can’t make you famous.

You can be who ever you want to be behind a computer screen. Take a few ATLPics. Lean on a car or three in Miami. Buy a Gucci belt and a G-shock, white tee and some “Trueys”, throw on some Tom Fords and you won’t be able to tell followers that he/she isn’t famous!!

Check this out my little darlings full of hope. Get a blog. Do something. Crack a joke on your timeline. Instead of you sending your street team next door neighbors to stalk profiles saying “Follow @imthenextHOTrapper”, make people want to follow you. Save you little lunch money and get OJ the Juiceman to say “OK” on your hook. See what happens.

Episode 2 – April 20, 2010

I really thought I’d have some jokes this week for Tiny & Toya. I mean, jokes are what I do best! However, I found myself all mushy on the insides as I watched last night’s episode. We’ll save the best for last.

I can’t help but question if Toya’s story this season is scripted. The conversations seem awkwardly planned on her end. This week, Toya introduces her mother, Ms. Nita to the rehabilitation facility that she’d like her to begin attending. I’m all for recovery—all for it. However, the seemingly authenticity of the storyline is missing this season. Rooms in houses look incredibly staged, conversations seem preplanned. But, I guess whatever helps, right? I can’t help but feel like Toya has nothing new to talk about. I feel like we’ve been here for 4 episodes with this whole journey that she is on.

Toya also takes Ms Diane (Tiny’s mother) and her mother for a spa day. How cute? Don’t you just love how Ms. Diane loves her husband? I couldn’t help but be distracted by Toya’s dialogue as she received a massage. I’m sorry looks of ecstasy on her face while she’s holding a conversation, and we’re at hoem on the couch was awkward!! I half way expected her to let out a soft moan or something. Scene please?!

While Tiny and her father wait on the ladies, Tiny gets to bond with her father. Her father having Alzheimer’s is interesting to watch, especially if you too have a family member who has suffered from it. Also, Alzheimer’s Disease, you cannot script! Yes, they can edit, but they can’t script that—which is great. Tiny and her father bond while singing a song together. Her voice sounded good! Then her father smiles and sings, “I love you” to her. WOW, it was definitely a moment. While in the “confessional”-looking scene, Tiny says, “I could tell that he knew that I was someone he must have loved in his lifetime.” That is exactly what his face read on screen too. He may not have known exactly who she was, but he looked as if he could tell she knew him and knew that he must have loved her. It was touching.

In this episode, they announce that TI is coming home soon. Tiny is going shopping for something sexy to wear, planning her first few nights home. She enlists the help of a friend, a new character. She’s a pretty girl, but she looks somewhere between Dwight from ATL Housewives and Lil Kim’s cousin from Countdown to Lockdown. This same friend tells Tiny that she should consider therapy to discuss what her dad is going through. Tiny tells her girl that for Tip she wants to get it in (wink) while $100s fall from the ceiling on to the bed. *eyebrows up* That’s right! Tiny just taught y’all a lesson… you gotta freak him to keep him! High-five Tiny, you better do it!

Next week, oh, I can’t wait! I guess Reginae has to be checked by Tiny. With Tiny’s attitude I can’t wait to see that happen. Teenagers, honey! They have been on their best behavior since the shows inception and everyone knows that NEVER happens. So yes, I can’t wait to see that play out. Next week, they’ll also show Reginae’s Birthday Party which Toya held at Room Service Lounge in Buckhead. We all seen pictures where Reginae’s younger brother was also in attendance. Reginae also wants to talk to her mom about Weezy going to jail. Should be interesting…

Sidebar: Yes I could have discussed the full-faces of makeup and close-up camera shots that made me hold my breath. But really… need I really go there? All I will say is the need to keep the camera at a distance most times. I’m being nice today. Reality TV Sundays… oh yeah, I’m roasting everyone… so bring your popcorn!

Former video chick, new actress Denyce Lawton plays the main female. I personally hate Ashanti’s look in this video. Bangs are so hot for early ‘09 and she’s just not working it right. The hood ponytail and Mortitia Addams thing is killing me. Like her shoes, though. I really think she did a great job singing this track. I bought the album just for this song. The vid is aiight.
